History
1984
- Construction of studio B in the basement of Dom Torche's house.
Music compositions for a cartoon TV series and recording of the
first Dom Torche solo Album "You're blowin' my mind".
With a distribution in 7 european countries and a hit in the charts
in France, the studio got a good start. Since then, Relief has
been busy recording and mixing numbers of albums for many national
bands.
1996
- Construction of studio A in the first floor of an old building
who was originaly a mill. Work of precision under the orders of
the acoustician Andy Munro.
1997
- First recordings in the new studio. A great acoustic, a beautiful
environment, a very good team of engineers , everything to please
the artists. Many projects like les TAMBOURS DU BRONX, Tony's
Big Band, Crowling King Snake,
Al
Comet, Djaimin, etc... have been completed in 1997-98.
1999
- Big change : out the console Amek Mozart RN - in the SSL 4064
G+. Yes our customers need a truly first class mixing desk. First
customers to work on the SSL, THE YOUNG GODS who have recorded
and mixed their new album at Relief Studio A. Satisfaction of
all our clients.
2000
- Development of new concepts of recording. Partnership with a
beautiful sounding concert hall suitable for orchestral recordings.
Development of musical recordings for all kind of new supports:
DVD, Web audio etc... Recording and mixing of CD for music lovers.
The
album 'Second Nature' from THE YOUNG GODS received the Lapin Rouge
award for the best swiss production of the year, production entirely
recorded and mixed at Relief Studio by our in house sound engineers,
Bertrand Siffert and Benoît Saillet. Dom Torche worked on
different projects such as arranging the music composed by Jean-Jacques
Debout for the musical comedy 'Fribug' in Fribourg. He also mixed
the last Mickaël von der Heide single.
