The Relief team is headed up by accomplished composer, producer, musician and engineer Dom Torche.

Founder of the Relief Studio, some 20 years ago, Dom studied classical and jazz piano at the Academy of Music of Fribourg and Bern. Dom is a talented keyboardist who enjoyed success with numerous bands such as: The Tickets, Slapsticks and Jamboree.

Over 10 albums and Live appearances with The Police have provided Dom with an acute sense for music and engineering.

His latest collaborative projects have seen releases with the likes of Bernard Allison, Graham Broad, Francie Conway and many more. His compositions have also found their way onto numerous films, mini-series and multi-media campaigns.

Dom has dedicated himself to create high quality studios and he's overseeing all projects.

Thanks to the recording work he did for the Cuban Group "Septet Nacional", Dom Torche was nominated for Grammy Awards 2004 as Sound Engineer.

The musical experiences of Dom Torche

  • >> 1970

Piano & musical studies at both classical & jazz music Academy of Music of Fribourg and Bern. Then he moved to London to get into rock music and formed the band « THE TICKETS » who won fame playing concerts with the The Police, Joe Jackson, The Ramones, Rory Gallagher, UB40, Uriah Heep and playing festivals all over Europe for 5 years. The Tickets recorded 2 albums released by CBS and Ariola.

  • 1970 - 1980

Keyboard player with different bands like 'The Tickets', 'Slapstick', Night, Bonny B, Francie Conway and the Works, Dom recorded more than 10 LPs and Singles with these bands and as solo Artist.

  • 1980-1990

Starts up with his own recording studio : Relief Studio. Realease of his first solo LP: 'Funny Things' (1987) .

  • 1990 - today

Records numbers of studio tracks with a lot of different artists such as Bernard Allison, Graham Broad, Kevin Flynn, Bonny B, Francie Conway and many more.

Realease of his second LP : Movie Life (1997).

Created the new actual Relief Studio, presented in this site. At the moment, Dom is creating music for multimedia projects and working on his new solo album. He also produces other artists such as Nicolas Meier quartet, Djaimin, The Black and White Brothers and others.

Dom Torche had the chance to work with Miroslav Vitous as a sound engineer . Miroslav Vitous is considered by many as the best bass player in the world !! (if such thing do exists !!)

Dom is into all kind of music and he knows what each style requires to etbe success. From composing – pre production- production- mixing and mastering – he has the experience to get the challenge done with class.

Dom Torche was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Awards in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

Bertrand Siffert brings a wealth of engineering experience, especially in the live and studio fields. He's able to turn a "not so great track of music" into a master piece.

Bertrand is the resident engineer for the internationnally acclaimed Swiss Band The Young Gods.

He is also the recording engineer for the Montreux Jazz Festival and has been mixing and recording 3 bands per night for 20 consecutive days.

Bertrand is second to none for jumping from different styles and get the best out of a band. He can really understand what each band of musician is about.

His production credits has been enlisted by a number of bands including: The Young Gods, Toni’s Big Band, Virtual Olive, No One Is Innocent and many more.

A talented re-mixer who has reworked songs by The Barbesse National orchestra, Prong, Mark Of Caine, Gary Clail and the Young Gods.

Djaimin is a successful DJ and recording Artist who has released a number of International Hits. He started his career in the beginning of the 80's in his first club named The Platinum that had the reputation of being the first funky place in the country. Now closed, the Club was located in downtown Montreux, the city of the famous International Montreux Jazz Festival.

In the middle of the 80s, hDjaimin discovers the American radio DJ Tony Humphries, the most famous New York DJ star who introduces him to a new dance style called Vocal House or Soulful Dance Music.

Dominique « Minic » Poinçot is a sound engineer who began his career after studying studio techniques for a year at the SAE Institute in Geneva. Propelled into the live mixing scene after his work with Dirty Sound Magnet during the recording of their futur album at Relief Studio, he begins a frantic journey full of tours, and gigs throughout all of Europe. This adventure will get him to work in Frison, Nouveau Monde, and Ebullition, three renowed venues in Fribourg. Frison has hosted bands such as Nirvana, Motörhead, Queens of the Stone Age, and many more.

His live experiences allow him to approach the studio from a modern and efficient point of view. At ease with standard recording techniques, he is also eager to experiment and go out of the traditional ways to create a unique sound identity for each artist whom he collaborates with.

Sergio Gautier

Sergio Gautier

Sergio Gautier has more than 15 years of experience in the field of sound at the international level.

Thanks to his calm and rigorous temperament, he had the opportunity to collaborate with world-renowned artists such as the African group Farafina (more than 2000 concerts worldwide including the opening of the Nelson Mandela Tribute concert in Wembley). in 1988) as well as Ravichandra Kulur, flutist of Ravi Shankar, Nora Jones and Anoushka Shankar for whom he recorded an album.

He is currently collaborating with the rock band Dirty Sound Magnet on many projects both in the studio and live throughout Europe. In three years of collaboration, he has already recorded more than 250 concerts in the best cinemas in Europe and Switzerland as well as the recording of 3 albums with numerous singles widely broadcast at the national level.

Between 1997 and 2005, he began his training at Fri-Son. During these 6 intensive years, he had the opportunity to develop his experience working for world-renowned artists. Subsequently, to perfect his knowledge, he participated in the courses of the CFMS (Sound and Image Training Center) in Lausanne for 2 years. He finally opened the studio Eko in 2005 and co-founded the music label Watermelon. In parallel to this, Sergio studied flute, trumpet and bass at the Friborg Conservatory. He plays in various bands as a musician, including the pop rock band GNU, which enjoyed national success in the 2000s.
